Cuil Search Engine
:Cuil.com - The Next Google Killer?
Cuil Search Engine
If you thought that its weird for Google to talk about their size of its search index again from no where, today we actually know why.
Its possibly because of their new rival in the market Cuil.com who made an outrageous claim saying they have the biggest search
engine in the world.

This stealthy start-up search engine launched just last night with full capacity, and Google in its sights. Cuil’s “about us†page makes the bold claim:
Cuil searches more pages on the Web than anyone else—three times as many as Google and ten times as many as Microsoft.
However that’s not the end of the story. The brand new search engine also claims to be better than Google in a number of ways, including:
- Better than PageRank – Cuil has claimed to rank pages based upon its unique content and relevance, not just inbound links.
- Refined searching – Cuil also offers searchers both “Explore by Category†panels–with useful information related to your search–and “Tabs†that help you clarify and refine your search.
- Privacy - Cuil claims, “…we do not collect any personally identifiable information, period. We have no idea who sends queries: not by name, not by IP address, and not by cookie. Your search history is your business, not ours.â€
I wonder how Cuil can possibly server the local search queries without tracking user’s IP address? And How can they improve their results without storing the search logs!
